Max Campaigns (Beta)

The Max campaign type is in beta, so you might not have access yet. Reach out to a Reddit Ads expert for more details.

Max campaigns are an automated campaign type that improves performance and streamlines setup and management. After you provide your targeting and creative assets, Max campaigns use artificial intelligence to automatically adjust bidding, creative selection, and more—optimizing for each impression in real time.

Key features

  • Streamline setup and management: Creating a campaign takes fewer steps, while giving you the power to target the audience you’re looking for. No need to set up ad groups, turn off underperforming ads or audiences, or redistribute budgets.
  • Gain valuable insights on creative and targeting: Measure performance of each creative asset and see which assets combinations are performing best. Leverage these insights to evaluate performance by placement, interest, community, or AI-generated audience persona.
  • Automate cost control: Budget and bids are automatically allocated and adjusted to minimize cost-per-action (CPA).
  • Show the best assets for every scenario: Using provided headlines, media, and CTAs, the Max campaign type predicts the best asset combination for every impression.

As you fill out your audience, the weekly estimates show how many redditors can see your ad. This estimate approximates the total available reach (not actual reach) and doesn’t represent the number of monthly or daily active users. Consider opening up your targeting to reach more redditors if the estimate is too narrow. Learn more about the estimator tool.

Campaign management and testing

Before a campaign can go live, it must be reviewed. This normally takes up to 48 business hours but may take a little longer depending on the content. Campaigns submitted over the weekend will be reviewed the following Monday. Campaigns set to run continuously will start running as soon as they’re approved. Learn more about Reddit’s Ad Review Process.

After your ads start serving, you can view insights on your audience’s interests and which asset combinations performed best. These insights can help you understand your audience and make adjustments to your creatives.

Recommendations

  • Add third-party tracking to your destination URL. Learn more about third-party measurement.
  • (Conversions objective type only) Share high-quality signals. Set up both the Reddit Pixel and Conversions API to widen your conversion coverage. Optimize match quality by sending as many match keys as possible. Learn more about sharing conversions.
  • Follow our learning phase recommendations. After a campaign is created or edited, it enters a calibration period where Reddit gets better at predicting the best-performing audiences, placements, and assets. Follow our best practices to help campaigns exit this phase more quickly and minimize cost and performance fluctuations.
  • Use audience suggestions. Include some automatically suggested keywords, communities, and interests to broaden your targeting and help Reddit Ads pinpoint your optimal audience.
  • Use larger custom audiences when working with a small budget. When using custom audience inclusions, only use custom audiences of 10,000 or more. Smaller custom audiences of at least 1,000 can still perform well for larger budgets.
