Set Up Payment
Creating an account for Reddit Ads is free, but we'll need some cold, hard plastic before you can start running ads. You can change or remove the card you have on file at any time.
Before you start
- We only accept credit and debit cards.
- We don't accept prepaid debit cards, Paypal, bitcoin, checks, or wire transfers.
Add a card
- Go to Ads > Account > Billing.
- Select Add a Credit Card.
- Provide your card details. You can do this manually or use Autofill with Link.
- Save your changes to add your card.
Your card will be charged an authorization fee. If this charge isn't removed within a week, contact support. Learn more about how and when you'll be charged for your ads.
Monthly invoicing option
Managed advertisers have the option to be invoiced monthly by contacting their Reddit Ads expert. Start working with a Reddit Ads expert if you're interested in this option.
Update a payment method
- Go to Ads > Account > Billing.
- Select Edit by your payment method.
- Edit your card and Save to make your changes.
Remove a payment method
Your ads won't run unless you provide at least one payment method.
- Go to Ads > Account > Billing.
- Select Remove by your payment method.
- Confirm that you want to delete this card.
Request monthly invoicing
Eligible advertisers can choose to be invoiced directly. Reddit will extend a credit line to your business to be spent on ads. This acts as the credit limit for your ad accounts. As you advertise, you'll accrue spending and receive an invoice monthly. You have 30 days to pay from the issue date.
You can also share credit lines in a partnership, letting your partner directly invoice you for ads to simplify billing for joint campaigns. Learn more about managing shared credit lines.

Troubleshooting
Can't add credit or debit card
If you try to add a credit or debit card to your Reddit Ads account but receive an error message, it's likely for one of the following reasons:
| Issue | Solution |
|---|---|
| The billing address you've entered doesn't match the one with your card issuer. | Check your most recent card statement to verify your billing address. Contact your issuing bank to confirm the address they have on file if you're sure you're using the correct address. |
| Your issuing bank is rejecting the authorization sent by Reddit when you attempted to add the card. | Call your issuing bank to find out why they're rejecting this authorization. Try adding the card again after they resolve the issue. |
Payment was declined
Contact your card provider for more details on your payment being denied. And if you need to, follow the steps to update your payment method.
Error when attempting to remove card
This error may occur if you have an outstanding balance on your card or there was ad delivery on your account within the last 12 hours.
Wait at least 12 hours and try again before contacting us.
