Simple Create
Simple Create helps you speed up the ad-building process by automatically setting up a traffic campaign and an ad group so you can focus on managing creatives. It can help you quickly run ads on Reddit without needing to set up a complex campaign with advanced targeting. You'll pay per click and your ads may appear in feed and conversation placements.
Campaigns built using Simple Create use the lowest-cost bidding strategy to automatically adjust your bids and help you get as many clicks as possible within your budget. If you want to adjust bids manually or use auto-bidding with a cost cap, we recommend setting up your campaign with Advanced Create.
You can only switch between Simple and Advanced Create during campaign creation

Before you start
- Set up a Reddit Ads account. You'll need to set up a payment method and select an inventory type. We also recommend adding an account avatar to boost your brand's credibility and drive better engagement.
- Create assets for your ads. This includes text and landing pages. We recommend building assets based on mobile device limitations. See our ad specifications.
- Review our advertising policy. This way, you'll know what is and isn't allowed on Reddit.
1. Start Simple Create
- In the Ads Manager, go to Create Campaign.
- If this is your first campaign, select Simple Create. Otherwise, if you aren't already in Simple Create, select Switch to Simple Create.
We only ask you to choose Simple Create or Advanced Create once. After that, creation defaults to the option you used previously. You can switch between the two during campaign setup.
2. Create your post
If you'd like to promote a post you've already created, choose the post by selecting post library. Learn about promoting posts.
- Upload or add links to five images or videos. You must upload at least one image or video. Adding multiple images will create a carousel post.
You can use images from your site with image import. This lets you use images from a page on your site. Don't have access to image import? Contact your Reddit sales representative.
- Create a headline containing up to 300 characters. Need some inspiration? Try generating a smart headline.
- Set the destination URL. This is where redditors will go after they click your ad.
- (Optional) Choose a display URL. This is the URL that will appear on your ad. This must match the destination domain unless you're using a click tracker.
- (Optional) Set a call to action (CTA). This will appear as a clickable button in your ad.
- (Optional) Enable allow comments. This will let you connect with redditors on a deeper level and get better results.

Need help crafting a creative headline for your ad? Easily generate a headline based on your website using smart headlines powered by AI.
Select Smart Headline to start the generation process.
If this is the first time you've used smart headlines, provide your site's URL and select Generate. This will auto-populate this URL the next time you use smart headlines.
After generating headlines, there are several things you can do:
- Select a headline: This will set it as your ad's headline.
- Change the URL to base headlines on: Select use a different URL to change the page that'll be used for generating headlines.
- Regenerate headlines: If you don't like your current options, select New headlines to generate and replace your current options.
3. Choose your targeting and delivery
- Choose either broad or custom targeting.
- Broad targeting (recommended): Reach users across all interests and communities. We recommend using this targeting to reach as many redditors as possible.
- Custom targeting: Choose your interest groups and community audiences. When starting a campaign, we recommend beginning with interest groups to broaden your audience. But if you'd like to use community targeting, try to include at least 15 communities per ad group for best results. We recommend using Suggested Communities to include communities we think are relevant to your ad.
- Set locations to target. If you leave this empty, your ads will run worldwide.
- Choose how much you want to spend on your ad per day for the daily budget.
- Set a start date.
- (Optional) Set an end date and schedule. If you make no changes, your ads will run continuously.
- Enter or select a payment method.
- Look at the preview for your ad to check that everything looks right. You can change the view mode to see how this ad may look to redditors.
- Select Publish to create your ad.
4. Review your campaign
Once you've submitted your ad for review, you'll be taken back to your Ads dashboard. You can view all the parts of your campaign on this page. Here are examples of default names:
- Campaign:
Traffic Campaign [date and time campaign was created]
- Ad group:
Traffic Ad Group [date and time campaign was created]
- Ad:
Traffic Ad [date and time campaign was created]
You can select the ellipsis next to each name and choose Edit to edit it.
Before an ad can go live, a human on the Reddit team has to review it. This can take up to 48 business hours but may take longer depending on the ad's content. Ads submitted over the weekend will be reviewed the following Monday. Ads set to run continuously will start running as soon as they're approved. Learn more about Reddit's ad review process.
In the meantime, we strongly recommend viewing your ad with a test URL to see how your ad will look in the wild.
