Set Up Your Reddit Ads Account

Before you can start with Reddit Ads, you'll need to set up a Reddit Ads account. Creating an account is free and only takes a couple of minutes—after that, you can dive in, build out your team, and advertise.

Create your ads account

Since your Reddit Ads account may be used to run ads, you'll need a Reddit account first. You can use either an existing or new account. If you're thinking of using an existing one, here are some things to consider:

• Karma won't affect your ad performance.
• Ads can't be run on accounts set to Not Safe For Work (NSFW). Here's how to make it SFW.
• Ads may be posted using your account if you add it as a profile in your business.

Existing account

1. Log in to Reddit.
2. Go to https://accounts.reddit.com/adsregister.
3. Choose your existing Reddit account.

New account

1. Go to https://accounts.reddit.com/adsregister.
2. Provide your email. You'll receive notifications about your ads account here.
3. Set your username, which will appear on your ads if you choose this account as a posting profile. This must contain between 3-20 characters letters and numbers.
   This can't be changed later.

   Username already taken? Try adding “official” or an underscore (SmithsBooksOfficial or Smiths_Books). But if your brand has a trademarked name and that username's been claimed, let us know.

4. Provide a password and fill out the CAPTCHA to prove you're human.
   You can enable two-factor authentication (2FA) after you sign up for additional security.

Set up your account for ads

1. If you didn't set a username during initial account creation, set it now. This will be used to post ads if you use it as a posting profile. Your username must contain between 3-20 characters letters and numbers.
   This can't be changed later.

   Username already taken? Try adding “official” or an underscore (SmithsBooksOfficial or Smiths_Books). But if your brand has a trademarked name and that username's been claimed, let us know.

2. Provide your first and last name and your business's legal name. This will be shown in your ads and your billing receipt.
3. (Optional) Provide your business's website to enhance your ad experience, including importing images from your website for ad creation.
4. If you're creating ads on behalf of or with another company, mark I work with an advertising agency.
5. Pick the industry that fits your business best.
6. Provide your country and currency. These will be used to set up your first ad account. 
   The country and currency for your ad account can't be changed later.

7. (Optional) Provide your phone number and mark whether you'd like to receive calls from Reddit for management help and news.
   You can submit an account issue later if you'd like to remove this from your account.

8. Select finish to complete the setup and start creating ads. We recommend verifying your email address and creating an avatar if you haven't already.

Join a business

Don't see an invite? Ask one of your business's administrators to resend an invite.

If someone's invited you to collaborate in their business, you can accept it in the invite email or in Reddit Ads:

1. Go to Accounts.
2. Open Pending invitations.
3. Select accept to join the business.
