Set Up a Lead Generation Campaign
Lead generation ads collect key information from prospective customers like names, emails, and job titles without needing to leave Reddit. You can easily set up a lead generation campaign using Advanced Create.
Before you start
- Create a Reddit Ads account. Set up your business on Reddit Ads or join your team's account as an administrator. You'll need to set up a payment method, select an inventory type, and get in touch with a Reddit Ads expert to get started. We also recommend adding an account avatar to boost your brand's credibility and drive better engagement.
- Decide what information you want to capture in your form. You'll need to provide text for your ad and select fields for the form.
- Review our policy and terms. This way, you'll know what is and isn't allowed on Reddit.
1. Set up your campaign and ad group
- Go to Create a Campaign. If you're in Simple Create, switch to Advanced Create.
- Set up your campaign. For objective, choose lead generation.
- Set up your ad group. Gender targetingis disabled for lead generation ads. Zip code targeting is limited to ad groups with an audience size of at least 1,000.
2. Create your ad
- Give your ad a name. This will only be visible on the dashboard and won't be visible to redditors.
- Choose the profile where you'd like to publish the ad.
- Choose a post type and set up your creative. Learn about our creative best practices.
- (Optional) Enable allow comments. This will let you connect with redditors on a deeper level and get better results.
- (Optional) Set a call to action (CTA). This will appear as a clickable button in your ad.
- Create a lead form or choose an existing one. If this is your first lead generation campaign, you'll only be able to create a new form.
You can't change to a different form after creating your ad. To select a different form, create a new ad.
- Agree to the lead generation policy and terms.
Create a lead form
- In lead forms, select New form.
- Provide a name for your form. This will only be visible on the dashboard and won't be visible to redditors.
- Set your prompt text, which will appear at the top of your form and beside your ad's CTA.
Prompts over 80 characters may be truncated in your ad depending on the device size.
- Select add a field to choose your fields. You can choose as many as you'd like, but you must mark at least one field as required.
Company emails and names will not be validated in the Ads Manager. To validate company emails, we recommend using the Reddit Leads Integration with Zapier.

- Drag and drop your fields to reorder them.
- Provide a link to your privacy policy. Your link must use HTTPS.
- Select Save form to create your form.
3. Review your setup
- Look at the preview for your ad and form. Change the view mode to alternate between viewing your ad and form.
- Select Review to see your campaign setup. Go back to make changes or hit publish to send it to our review team.
- While your ad is in review, view your ad with a test URL.
