Set Up the Reddit Lead Ads Zapier Integration

The Reddit Lead Ads Zapier integration lets you seamlessly transfer information shared with lead generation ads to third-party applications, enhancing workflow efficiency and lead management. You can create Zaps to automate workflows when information is forwarded to Zapier.

Do you learn better by watching? See how to set up the integration.

Before you start

1. Create a zap

  1. In Zapier, go to Zaps and select Create > Zaps.
    Create zap
  2. For the trigger, choose Reddit Lead Ads.
    Choose Reddit Lead Ads
  3. Choose new lead for the event.
  4. Select Continue to go to Account.
    Continue to account
  5. Select the ad account to forward leads from Reddit to Zapier. If you haven't connected your account yet, select Sign in or Change > Connect a new account to add your account. Connect account
  6. Select Continue to go to Trigger.
    Continue to trigger
  7. Choose the Reddit business account, ad account, and form to pull leads from.

    Continue to test
  9. Select Test trigger to check that your trigger is set up correctly.
    Test trigger
  10. You'll see a list of the most recent leads forwarded from Reddit to Zapier. You can also create a test record instead. If you haven't received any leads, yet, Zapier will automatically create an example lead for you. Choose a lead to test your Zap with and select Continue to set up actions. Continue with record

If you don't see your leads, select Find new records to fetch them manually.

Connect an ad account

  1. Choose true for the 2FA disclaimer and select continue.

You must set up 2FA to extract leads. Here's how to set it up.

  2. You'll be asked to authorize Zapier to connect with your Reddit account. Check that the username matches the account you want to link.  Check username
  3. If you see the correct username, select Allow. If not, log out, log back in, and try again.

Create a test record

  1. Choose an existing record and select duplicate to edit. Duplicate to edit
  2. Your record will be duplicated and you'll be able to change the information for your lead. We strongly recommend changing all the information to ensure testing your integration doesn't affect any of your real leads.
  3. (Optional) Select more actions > rename to change this record's name. This can help you find and edit this test record later. Rename record

2. Add actions

Set up the actions to perform when the trigger occurs. You can create as many actions as you'd like. We recommend choosing an action to send the lead to your CRM system. Here's the list of all the CRM tools that Zapier supports.

Choose action

If your CRM tool isn't listed, there are several things you can do:

  • Set up a webhook with Webhooks by Zapier: Send data from your CRM API using Webhooks by Zapier.
  • Set up custom code in Zapier: Run custom JavaScript or Python code to interact with your CRM API using Code by Zapier. This can be useful for complex integrations requiring data transformation or multiple API calls.
  • Create a custom application: Use the Zapier Platform CLI (Command Line Interface) or Zapier Platform UI to create and manage custom integrations. This involves defining triggers, actions, and searches that map to your CRM API endpoints.
  • Use a third-party integration service: Set up a connection to your CRM using another Zapier integration, like Salesforce.
  • Create custom middleware: Create a server that handles API calls between Zapier and your CRM. This server can process data, handle authentication, and manage the flow of information.

3. Test your action

After setting up an action, go to Test and select Test step. This will send an event to your application using your selected Reddit lead.

Test step

We recommend doing this for all your actions to ensure your Zap is functioning correctly.

4. Turn on your workflow

Publish your Zap to turn it on and enable your workflow. We recommend double-checking your CRM system to ensure your leads are properly getting forwarded.

Troubleshooting

My lead isn't showing up in Zapier.

The time it takes for lead forwarding is dependent on your Zapier plan:

  • Professional: 2-5 minutes*
  • Starter: 15-20 minutes

If your lead doesn't appear after this period, contact Zapier support.

I'm having technical issues connecting my leads from Reddit to Zapier.

Check that you're forwarding leads with an account that has 2FA set up. If you had to enable 2FA or need to re-authenticate the connection, reconnect your Reddit account to Zapier:

  1. Go to your failing Zap and select Edit zap.
  2. Select the Reddit Lead Ads trigger and go to the Account tab.
  3. Select the link to reconnect and follow the steps to connect your ads account to Zapier.
  4. Refresh your page to see your changes and publish your changes.

If you're still experiencing issues, create a new Zap or contact our support team.

I need to send a test record to verify my integration.

You can create a test record to verify your integration. If you haven't received any leads in your form, Zapier will automatically create one for you.

I would like to connect my audience lists to Zapier.

This feature is currently not supported by this integration but might be explored later. Reach out to your sales representative for more information.

I see more leads in Zapier than the Ads Manager.

As soon as leads are received by Reddit Ads, they are forwarded to Zapier. However, these leads may take up to ten minutes to appear on the dashboard in the Ads Manager. If your lead doesn't appear in the Ads Manager after this period, contact our support team.

I have fewer leads in my CRM system than the Ads Manager.

Factors like your scoring model filtering lower-quality leads and email rejections may reduce leads transferred to your CRM system. To ensure your leads transfer effectively, set a less restrictive scoring model, follow best email practices to decrease rejections, and implement a manual review process for valuable leads.
