Optimize with Recommendations
The Recommendations Center highlights recommended actions that can help you drive campaign performance and spend efficiency. Here’s what you can do in the center:
- View your optimization score: See how well your ad account is set up to succeed. A score of at least 80% is ideal. Learn more about your score.
- Filter suggestions: Choose which suggestions to view. You can also view dismissed scores by enabling that filter.
- Dismiss a suggestion: Hide a suggestion from view. Removing a suggestion will increase your score.
To undo a dismissal, filter by dismissed, then select ⋮ More actions.
- Apply a suggestion: Resolve a suggestion by taking the recommended action.
Some suggestions may remain in your recommendations until spend occurs.
Visit the Recommendations Center anytime in Ads > Account > Recommendations. You can also apply suggestions as they appear throughout the Ads Manager.
Score calculations
Your optimization score represents how well your campaigns are configured to achieve your objective. It automatically updates as you complete suggestions. We strongly recommend aiming for a score of at least 80%.

Create a retargeting ad group | Target users who’ve previously interacted with your ad, engaged with your site, or belong to a customer list. Here’s how to set up custom audiences. |
Set up keyword targeting | Set a list of keywords to target redditors who’ve shown active interest in what you’re promoting. Learn more about keyword targeting. |
Expand community targeting with interest targeting | Expand reach by finding redditors engaging or seeking knowledge related to interests associated with your brand. Learn more about community and interest targeting. |
Improve iOS app install measurement quality | Reach at least 50 daily installs to increase the chances of limiting null rates to 10% or less. Here are a few ways to achieve enough install volume. |
Trim headline length | Keep headlines to 150 characters or fewer and pair them with engaging assets to tell the full story. Here’s how to edit your campaign. |
Reach a larger audience | Enable automated targeting to improve budget utilization and increase audience size. |
Increase bid | Increase bids to drive more volume and increase SOV to limit underspend. |
Increase budget | Reallocate budgets to ad groups that perform better to maximize performance within your existing budget. Here’s how to edit your campaign. |
Increase budgets for better SOV | Increase your overall budget to maintain strong performance and remain competitive. |
Things to know
- Recommendations refresh daily, and your score updates as recommendations are satisfied.
- Removing a suggestion will improve your score since resolved issues aren’t counted; however, we strongly recommend only doing this when fixing the issue isn’t possible.
- Some suggestions may remain in your recommendations until spending occurs.
