Dynamic Product Ads (Beta)
Dynamic product ads (DPA) automatically create ads from your catalog, showcasing the right product to the right user at the right time. Targeting customers using prospecting and retargeting, DPAs dynamically serve your products to redditors in the platform's rich, product-focused discussions.
DPAs are similar to product ads, except you don't have to select specific products to show in your ad since Reddit dynamically does this for you. You can also choose between prospecting or retargeting as the targeting method.
DPAs are only compatible with physical products.

Before you begin
The product ID for your catalog and Pixel must match so we know they refer to the same product.
- Set up a product catalog.
- Install the Reddit Pixel or Conversions API.
- Create Add To Cart, View Content, and Purchase events. A product ID is required for these events, and currency and value are required for Purchase events.
- Verify your integration with the Events Manager and Pixel Helper.
- Map your product catalog to the Pixel and check your catalog diagnostics.
1. Create your campaign
- Go to Create Campaign.
You can't make DPAs in Simple Create, so don't switch to it.
- Name your campaign. This can be up to 200 characters. We recommend choosing something easy to identify.
- Select catalog sales, then continue.
2. Create your ad group
We suggest creating two ad groups, one for prospecting and another for retargeting, with equal budgeting. We also recommend splitting ads between feed and conversation placement to reach redditors across various purchase journeys.
- Name your ad group.
- Choose the product catalog you'd like to advertise.
- Choose a product set. You can set this to all products to include all the products in your catalog. We recommend setting this to all products to collect the most signals and improve DPA campaigns for your first DPA campaign.
- Enable the Dynamic ads toggle.
- Choose your audience type and the people to target.
Make sure to pick the right audience before continuing. Once you create your catalog, you can't change the audience.
- Prospecting finds new people who are interested in your products. We recommend excluding anyone who's recently purchased products from the product set.
- Retargeting targets people who have previously shown interest in your products on your site. We recommend retargeting people who have viewed or added to your cart but didn't purchase.
- Set your lookback window if you selected retargeting. The larger your window, the greater your retargeting audience size. We recommend setting this to 30 days.
- (Optional) Customize your audience, placement, and delivery. Learn more about creating ad groups.
- When finished, select continue.
3. Create your dynamic product ads
- Give a name to your ad.
This is only visible in the ads dashboard and won't be shown to redditors.
- Select your post type.
You can include both feed and conversation placements for both formats.
- Choose image to advertise a single product.
- Choose carousel to advertise multiple products.
We recommend testing this ad type to ensure your ads display correctly.
- Create a catchy headline. Just make sure it's less than 300 characters.
- Select whether to display the product's description or price in your ad's bottom caption. If you include sale prices, redditors will see them with the striked-out original price.
- Choose whether to use the destination URL from your catalog or override it with a custom URL.
- Select a call to action (CTA).
- (Optional) If you selected the carousel ad type, enable prevent single-product delivery to only display the ad if more than one product is dynamically chosen.
- (Optional) Add URLs for click or impression trackers for third-party measurement. We recommend setting click and impression tracking.
- When finished, select Review and then Publish.
- (Optional) Let redditors comment on your ad by editing your ad and enabling allow comments. Learn more about managing posts with comments on.
