Counterfeit Goods

Principle: Creators and their original products should be protected on Reddit. Reddit aims to provide an ad platform that only offers ads for genuine and authentic products to our users. 

Policy: Reddit prohibits the sale of or promoting the sale or resale of counterfeit goods.

Counterfeit Goods​

Counterfeit consumer goods are inauthentic goods, often of inferior quality, made, promoted, or sold under another brand's name without the brand owner's authorization. Sellers of such goods may infringe on either the trademark, patent or copyright of the brand owner by passing off their goods as made by the brand owner.

Examples of counterfeit goods include:

  • Fake goods such as shoes, clothing, accessories, jewelry
  • Inauthentic or forged artwork and digital goods
  • Unlicensed or inauthentic collectibles or memorabilia
  • Forged currency
